Why can't they just stick to the truth?
It's such a much better movie without the Hollywood over the top battles and melodrama.
share I coulden't even stomach the first 12 minutes of the movie. Like not even 12 minutes and every body in the movie is being an ass to everybody. In that time we learn that some captain stepped down to be with his family then 9/11 happens and he's literally being blamed for it by his former team. He tells some one (apparently in authority at the beginning) that he wants his team back and is chastised and basically told to fuck off and go to his desk. His former team practicly blames him and declares "Thanks to you were gonna be sitting on the side watching everything on CNN while every thing goes down". Apparently the captain stepped aside to be with his family and every one is pretty much acting like he desserted and is responsible for the 9/11 attacks or at least their lack of response to it. The captain proceeds to go to his office and poof kicks over a desk. This of course give the impression that just about anyone in the military or affiliated with the military are devoid of rational thought and driven by pure emotion. When he gets his team back so to say he then goes home and has to deal with his wife and child who then proceed to treat him like he is deserting them. Does holly wood view the military and military family as being this uneducated and impulsive and incapable of directing their anger at an appropriate enemy rather then each other?
I stopped watching after this. This isn't exposition this is an exercise as to how to write every character in the most hostile way possible. Is this how hollywood remembers 9/11? Sure we were all angry during 9/11 but we all knew pretty much who the enemy was and were not fighting each other like this. I remember 9/11 being a unifying event for people that normally woulden't get along with each other. At the political level sure there was plenty of room for blame left or right but we know the enemy and were the bullets needed to go.
