What do YOU think of her "singing" ? good, bad, mediocre?
I think the songs are catchy but her voice does NOT stand out. She wouldn't make it in a talent show... I'm not even trying to diss her shes just not great IMO. Shes not BAD either. I have heard worse. Theres just no way in hell would REAL music people even humor her without already being semi-famous.
Everyone wants to sing when they get to TV! People forget even Don Johnson and Philip Michael Thomas of Miami Vice fame even tried their had at it! With a little digital help, just about everyone can get away with it! ;-/

I guess people might like it but I am not one of them. She bothers me too much as a person to have cared about her shoehorned in singing, or anything she does really. By season 5 I was looking away when she was on screen.
She is a weird ridiculous person. On her facebook page there are weird automated comments talking about how beautiful she is but they don't make much sense. She has paid for fake twitter and facebook followers.
"What do I have to buy to be even a fraction of how beautiful this is". Cue fake facebook with a much prettier woman with no info and one picture.

shareI'll put it this way: she's way better than Kim Z from Atlanta and Countess Luanne from NYC (and I know I'm forgetting someone who also sounded like a cat in heat being beaten against a wall). But she's nowhere near as good as Kandi from Atlanta (although that may not be fair since Kandi's a professional... but some people don't like her voice).
She's average. Very, very average. If she were to go on American Idol they wouldn't even show her in the audition phase since she's not so bad she's laughable or so great they cast her.
I think her singing voice is decent; it's the type of music she was making that was dreadful. Dance, techno, house or whatever it was, was not suitable at all. Maybe if they had her sing more pop sounding music like Gwen Stephani or Pink she would have had a chance.
Kandi, to me, sounds like a goat being boiled alive when she sings, talks and cries.. (What's the animal that goes "baahhh" I was watching a YouTube video of her surprising a fan singing "No Scrubs" karaoke and she did not sound good at all. Her singing voice is nothing to rave about, at her peak she sounded decent but now, she sounds not so great.
I don't disagree. I remember when Kandi was with X-scape, I don't recall her singing any leads, at least not on the songs that got radio-play anyway. It seems like she more excels in writing to me.
shareJust FYI. Xscape's first hit was Just Kickin It, Kandi sang lead on that. She was out in front a lot during their initial release. As time went on, the others especially Tasha (think that's her name) were put in front. A documentary on the group suggested Kandi was jealous of this and this was a catalyst for the group's breaking up.

Now that is a shame. If Tasha was the plus-size girl, she had a really good voice (what became of her?). To have a good RB group break up over petty jealousy is a shame.
I doubt they'll ever get back together either (a la SWV and their reality show) since Kandi's on RHOA and Tiny has her own show with TI.
Not to hijack this thread (agree with all who says her singing is just meh) but whatever happened with the singing?

They were the one's that invested in the garbage truck? Wow, these people have money to burn and don't seem to mind when they lose money; instead of investing into these failed businesses, they should help me pay my college tuition.....😁
shareAnd she never sang live!! Her premiere performance or when the launched BLK, she was ridiculous. She was telling them to half a** this launch party, bc it's not like it's in a stadium or anything. It's in a bar. But the reality is she didnt bust her butt to practice, unless there was a camera around. And she couldnt sing AND dance at the same time, because she is out of shape (regardless of her size).
At Beatfest or whatever ... the one where Gia danced as well. Well, you could tell Melissa was lip synching!! She wasnt singing along! She was pretending! She was off with her mic and with words and sounds. When there was a part where there would be singing or a "voice" her mouth wouldnt move or the mic was away from her mouth.
They tried going independently because no label wanted them. She wasnt totally serious about it.

shareAt least Brit doesnt deny it, and she can dance! That's why she wears a headset. But I think with more deeper and slow songs, she holds the mic and sings those.
But the ones where she is dancing and moving a lot, its Lip Sync
I'm saying britney is a "icon" in her own right. she can do whatever the eff she wants and her fans dont care. Shes still around Melissa? No one will know who she is when this show is over. This is why Melissa is now doing retail, her "singing" obviously didnt pan out...
shareI'll have to disagree with the "Britney can dance..." part. Lately, Britney is so stiff, she moves like an arthritic, erect penis. It's almost as if she counting her dance moves and lacks fluidity.
