Teresa calling Ramadan "Rama-don-don"
Maybe she was thinking of Rin-tin-tin at the same time and got her wires crossed.
Or Ringa-ding-ding...
Or Chinny-chin-chin...

That was funny!
You never know when you may have to jam
You know, I'm willing to say that there are many people who unaware of much outside their own little bubbles, but could this woman really be this unschooled? Could she really be this unaware and this dumb? Listening to her talk is so painful because even when she's just talking about everyday things, she sounds unsure of what she's saying or worse yet, as if she's reading from a script.

We were always told to be kind, not impatient, with people who were impaired because they couldn't help being slow. But Teresa and her ridiculous mispronunciations drives me crazy. Where did this woman go to school?
shareTo me that's kind of the point. New Jersey has some wonderful educational systems. I think Kinnelon HS (about 20-30 minutes) away from all of them has a school ranked 4th in the country (public education). I think that she might have been isolated and just hung out with her Italian side of the family (note: for her parents English is not their first language and it's easy for someone learning to just mimic what they hear and not know enough about it, so the wrong enunciation sticks) either that or she was boy crazy in school and didn't pay attention to what was actually being said. Granted I don't know where exactly she was raised, or what schools she attended but you would think that by her age either someone would have corrected her before or she would have heard someone else say it correctly (making her change to the correct way the word or the saying should sound). Frankly I don't think she cares and probably thinks her wrong ways of saying things is "cute". Sometimes it's annoying to me and sometimes I find it funny.

Yes she is that stupid. That's why I can't stand her. I do have sympathy and patience for someone who is so mentally challenged that they can't learn anything. But Theresa's stupid is the kind where she clings to it because she thinks it's endearing. It's pathetic. She could learn SO much,if she just wanted to. But she loves her dumb act, and I guess her husband is okay with it so it will never change. What I don't get is how all the other women on the show not only seem to tolerate her, but WANT to be with her!!!! That's a head scratcher to me.

Reading is the simplest way to increase vocabulary and learn proper grammar. The women (and their husbands) need to read books. It's a wonderful thing.

lol. Like, just assuming that Joe will be in with a bunch of Muslims? That would be funny. She would think something like that, ha ha.
What bothers me is how she makes the sign of the cross. Now, I don't want to offend anyone. I'm from the west coast and no one does it that way out here. The kissing of the hand. It seems to me that EVEN WHEN PRAYING, Theresa's biggest gesture is to kiss her own hand. Like, that is the part that she likes. Has nothing to do with the Father, Son and Holy Ghost. She gets to kiss her hand! and that's the only way she will pause for a moment to pretend to pray.

Just out of curiosity, what is your ethnicity? I'm from the west coast, I'm Mexican, and we kiss our hands. My in-laws are Filipino, and they do the palms together at the end. Its probably a cultural thing, but, now I'm wondering if Dolores kissed her hands at the end or not. Did she?
shareI'm Catholic from upstate NY and when we say the rosary, we bless ourselves and after the sign of the Cross kiss the crucifix on the rosary. Maybe she gets it from that.
shareYes, I guess it's very much a cultural thing. It's how you were raised. Sorry I said anything, because I didn't mean to say that one way is better than the other. Just that Theresa carries everything to the extreme, and it seems that she makes that gesture SO large and flamboyant, instead of humble as it should be. I'm half white (Irish) and half Mexican. Learned as a child to put my hands together, as in prayer, after making the sign of the cross.

Its cool, it was a friendly question and I know you were just taking your jabs specifically at Theresa and not different cultures. My husband, the hand folder teaches our daughter to hand kiss because he thinks its cute, and my in-laws always correct her and fold her hands, haha.
I can also see how it probably looked like Theresa looked especially full of herself while she did it, especially if you haven't seen anyone else do it before.
Another real gem from Theresa was when she pronounced the spice "cumin" a few seasons back!
shareShe's a fecking idiot. Can't stand her ignorant self. Trash with money. That's all she is.
