Why did Jacqueline leave the show for a while?

When Jacqueline left the show after a few seasons was she fired or did she leave on her own?
After being off the show for a few seasons was she asked to come back? Or did she miss the cameras and ask/beg to be back on the show?

She didn't choose to leave. She wasn't asked back. She appeared a couple of times but never regularly until this season.

I always considered it punishment for not appearing in the finale/reunion of season 3; after the "ROW" at Porsche fashion show and Melissa set up! Jacq's was done; esp. after Tre tried to deflect it onto her! 

OK, I forgot about that. So Jacqueline spent a lot of time trying to get back into the good graces of the producers and they finally agreed to take her back.

I guess she decided to give them their money's worth of drama for the show since they agreed to take her back.

I think after they saw the season and why she didnt appear they figured it really wasnt warranted. AND IT WASNT! The Strippergate/Porsche fashion show was Season 4 FINALE and the VERY NEXT DAY was the Reunion (??  ) -- Caroline supported her Sister-in-law's decision. She stated "Jacqueline is SO devastated by the events that happened last night; so distraught, that she had a complete melt down (her second that season btw)!! She couldnt come today. She cant look at you in the face!"
And Teresa said something like "ohh really? Its all on me...well maybe it's because she has something to hide. Or cant face the truth...oh wait, but thats for NEXT season, we cant discuss that now...Now can we??"

This made more sense (obviously) after watching all of Season 4. I binge watched the past 3 weeks, and Jacqueline couldnt go to the reunion to face the TRUTH. She was too scared that something would slip out of her mouth. She knew something was going to happen. She was being text about it. And when she is yelling at Melissa this season and asking her "Did I warn you something was going to happen!?!? ANSWER!! Didnt I tell you!? Yes or no! Yes or no!!! YES OR NO MELISSA, ITS A SIMPLE YES OR NO!!!!" And Melissa was confused, bc Jac really DIDNT warn her. Jac ran as fast as she could to Joe and Melissa and let them know she had texts about what had happened tonight (ohh...really, as this is happening, you got the play by play??) and she would show them to them and fwd the messages. And Teresa had a right to be mad at the end saying 'You arent helping me and my family!! You re tearing it apart!!!" and she was. She was inserting herself. She got to them first before teresa to look more innocent. But Kim D said herself, Jac knew what was going to happen before it happened. And look at this season!! Shes in her store, hugging and laughing!! They are good friends! Of course Kim D is going to tell Jac things that will be going down.

And the producers should had been upset. What Jac was upset about had NOTHING to do with Season 3!! Which is the networks fault for overlapping like they did. But she had a job to do, and she needed to complete it.

This was brought up at the reunion tonight. Melissa brought up how Jac didn't show up when it had nothing to do with her but about Melissa. If she [Melissa] could show up when it was her embarrassment and damaging to her then Jac should have been there at the reunion. Jac said she was going through so much, with her son's regression, and everyone fighting and heating Kim D was going to show up and so and so possibly being there (didn't catch other names) ... It was too much and she could come in!

Melissa said yeah everyone was going through shhhh but showed up. Im not erasing or in denial about Teresa's involvement however you showed guilt by not showing up. If you were all innocent in it then why do you care if Kim D showed up? What were you afraid of? Melissa accused Jac in being more involved than let on and knowing more than she claimed. If ppl were texting her all night about it, why did Jac wait until Joe picked Melissa up and were driving off to say anything? Jac told them she'd screen shot or fwd the texts she was receiving throughout the night. Why wait until they're driving off and pinning everything on teresa? Teresa yelling at Jac in the end and saying "what did you do? Why did you do that?! you are not helping my family!! You're helping to destroy it!!"

Melissa finally seeing it want all teresa and Jacqueline is BFF with Kim D soooooo why wouldn't Jac know anything about this?? You could tell they gossip all the time, just like at the fashion show and Kim repeating rumors about Joe's indiscretions. Almost as though Jacqueline and Kim rehearsed this scene.
