The most stupid death ever
Such a dumb blonde... KABOOOM!
shareYeah I was scratching my head over that one too.
First she arms the bomb and then hangs around and tries to disarm it whilst the two Martins go at one another.
It was a little bizarre to say the least. All I can think is that because the alarm was sounded, Liz and Martin 2 now felt that the bomb couldn't be attributed to muslim terrorists and had to be disarmed.
I don't know why; I would have just legged it.
IMO a lot of things occur in this movie that don't really add up.
She says they have to disarm it because she can't be on file entering hotel and then bomb going off. Which is dumb since Germans couldn't identify her as bomber. she didn't know Martin A was in the house and alerted the authorities and nobody would look for videos that much back anyway.
And she could have made hole in the wall bigger so she could reach it easier.
yeah the writer is a dump blonde and a little bold.
shareFor being a spy... she wasn't very smart "yeah, wait a minute, I'm going right to the bomb that is just going to explode"
shareIt was only appropriate that "the most stupid death ever" happened to the dumbest character played by the poorest actress.
Incidentally, this is one of the few movies I have seen in which someone failed to disarm a bomb at the last moment and it actually went off.
Agree with every word.
Totally Confusing...!!
That was the only scene I hate in this movie.
This death was not that stupid. She too must have started to have a change of heart in some respects, as she tried to help Liam by suggesting that he retrieve the briefcase (and not turning him in at that moment). At the hotel she says that there is no more need for an explosion at that point (because at least most people have left the hotel), and she does not want this on her record. (And even though they are evacuating the hotel, it's possible that innocent victims are still around.) She made a cost-benefit analysis. It looks like all she had to do was to pull one of those wires, and she thought she could reach it. (But note that she would have to either leave the bomb behind, or try to take it out with her. Not great options.) From a plot perspective, they might have wanted to kill her off; it's cleaner that way, as she and Liam had some sincere feelings for each other.
shareYou're a bit confused. . .
She didn't have a change of heart. The briefcase Had to be retrieved; that wasn't to help him, but rather her organization. And her run to the bomb wasn't to save innocent lives, but to keep her face from being associated w/the blast (this is stated explicitly in the film).
Finally, whatever feelings they had for each other seemed to be largely professional. She certainly had no problem w/him being killed.
hey, at least no one can tie her face to the bomb now... oh, wait.
