Highly underrated movie.
I remember rooting for this one at the Oscars. It is very stark,and real slice of life that not everyone gets a glimpse into. That also may be why some people don't like it.
shareYeah, remember not seeing it at the time when it was Oscar nominated and wondered what all the fuss was about. I thought at first that it was another one of those overrated movies, so I wasn’t in a rush to see it. But having seen it now I gotta say it deserved all the praise. It’s definitely one of the good ones. Not much of a plot, but the mystery element helped to hold the interest, and Lawrence was great in it. I have to say that if it wasn’t for her acting and beautiful cinematography then this movie would’ve tanked.

This was an all-round (near-)superb film, easily one of the year's best. Top 6 for me along with True Grit, The Fighter, I Saw the Devil, Incendies, Uncle Boonmee (Social Network & Inception & Black Swan while impressive left me cold; don't rate King's Speech at all). share
