Common theme in both is how far you have to lose your identity and how far you have to go to convincingly infiltrate an enemy as an undercover agent. I thought the series did a good job in exploring some of the nuances. For example, the key is in acting the way the group would EXPECT you to act if you were really who you pretended to be. That is, how would you act if you really and truly were not guilty of subterfuge? You might in fact be attracted to the boss’s women and flirt with her, because if you really are not trying to pretend you are innocent you might take liberties. But at the same time you have to be extremely sensitive to the possibility you might be able to “turn” some of the insiders to your advantage.
