One of the "gimicks" from the original


Is that all of the things that Mac did were supposed to be technically plausible.

I don't think this show can make that same boast.

I don't think anyone, let alone Samantha Carter, is going to be calling this guy McGadget.



Brains are good, especially when sauteed with caramelized onions.

I think the only thing I ever saw MacGyver do that wasn't plausible was the one ep where the Phoenix Foundation headquarters were attacked, and he had to blast his way out of a sealed lab with a capsule full of potassium dissolved in water. Yeah, potassium will react strongly when dropped into water, but it will not explode like a brick of C4, much to the peace of mind of chem teachers everywhere.

I don't remember that episode, but I'll agree with you, unless the capsule weighs something like 100 lbs.
