With a 10.9 in the ratings? The highest CBS has had in the timeslot in 11 years. Doubt It!!!

"Limitless" was on Tuesday night with "NCIS" & "NCIS: NOLA" as lead ins. It should have gotten better ratings than it did. "MacGyver" is on Friday nights at 8pm with no lead in. That puts it on a night of the week where lower ratings are the norm (that's how H5O gets renewed every year!) for a target audience that is basically below the demo.

I won't say all fans of the original because I'm a fan of the original and I enjoyed this version but it seems like at least some fans of the original don't like it simply because they wanted a carbon copy of 30 years ago. RDA will always be Mac but that doesn't mean that there isn't a place for this version of the show in this time. There isn't much better on network television today and I'm a very discriminating viewer, I'm watching a total of 3 programs on TV this season.

Since, I didn't like the debut, I'll do my part in making sure the rating goes down next week by DVRing the episode and watching later

Go right ahead. Chances are you're doing nothing for the ratings whether you watch it or not. You have to have a Nielsen box attached to your TV to effect the ratings. And you might want to wait ... I'd say 8 days to be on the safe side, the DVR numbers come out at "plus 3" and "plus 7"!

I liked it personally. I don't think Rush Hour had a chance at all and liked that. They cacelled it with out any time to build and audience. I watched MacGyver in the 80's and did not expect this to be an exact reboot. I like easy digestible TV action shows occasionally and this fits the bill.

They had that high rating because of the curiosity of fans of the original show who tuned in out of curiosity.

From what I'm reading, most of those fans didn't like what they saw. Let's see what the numbers are next week. That'll tell the tale.

Yeah I was one of those fans, and I certainly won't be back. What I saw bounced between ridiculously predictable to outright offensive.

I'm watching this as I type this... I'm at the part where he jumps on a plane that's about to take off. The fact that he was still hanging outside when the plane is actually taking off from the ground means he just caught up with it at the moment of take off. According to Wikipedia, a Light aircraft, such as a Cessna 150, take off at around 55 knots (63 mph). Humans can't even run half that fast.

Then don't me started on the "hacker" chick cracking a hard drive from a laptop with a hammer, then actually opening it like a can of Pringles. Like wtf...

Won't be watching this again.

Absolutely, this version is already the worst tv of the year and sure has to me, dana elcar is turning in his grave as we speak.

I watched the first episode last night. It was terrible! So Cheesy and predictable. If he could use plaster dust to get the fingerprints why did he bother getting one off the glass. 30 seconds to make a parachute and get off the truck, sure... That bomb was supposed to spread the virus or whatever across the entire city?? It barely blew up the truck. Why were they driving it outside the city too? Totally unbelievable and ridiculous.

I think you need to watch it again, without preconceived notions that it's going to be the worse show ever developed. Nicky clearly stated "we got bad intel". Mac got the fingerprint off the glass because all they were supposed to need was the fingerprint. That was a biometric scanner, he had to improvise because a fingerprint doesn't work on it.

That's all it has to do. Normal air currents will do a better job of spreading a virus than a bomb. Here I though someone would complain about how fire is usually used to kill a virus and sterilize after it therefore a bomb with a big explosion wouldn't be an effective way of releasing the virus.

Because he couldn't have been sure it would have worked, the problem being that NEITHER plan would work since modern print scanners can tell a 3D Hand from a flat copy or they wouldn't be very good, would they. Some even check for a pulse or at least body temperature.

I watched the show. And yes I was disappointed. At the end of the show. Macgyver said about the the phenix foundation. Well Macgyver didn't invent the phenix foundation. It was already there. Yes the writers rewrote the whole script. And about the techology. The tech they was using....wasn't invented in that time period. So the whole show was a big disppointment. Now whether the show will last
to the second showing. Is a question.
