Even at a modest 3/4", that hunk of plate over the elevator in E02 would have weighed in at over half a ton, yet the two guys just put on their "Grr, this is heavy, but I'm a manly man!" expressions and lower it quietly to the ground.

C'mon CBS, we've done this dance for two years with Scorpion (2014). If you're going to do a show with technical elements, then in addition to storytellers in the writers room you need a technical person. Or at least a computer and ask.com.

I'm sticking to my proposed "Scorpion scenario": put a nerd with a squirt bottle in the writer's room, and when the writers suggest something stupid without researching, the nerd gets to hose 'em down with a little "negative reinforcement".
