I wanted to like this, I really did but I couldn't even get to the end of the first episode. One of the biggest things wrong with the show was the constant and rather intrusive background music, which at times didn't even seem to correspond to what was happening in the scene. I now alot of shows have this constant music going on in the background but when it's done properly you just don't notice it. The Shannara Chronicles also suffered with this.
shareOh my gosh! Yes!! I did a post on this before I saw yours and I'm in full agreement. Why, oh WHY must the sound engineering be so dodgey? The music choices are, indeed, quite rubbish.
The second episode had this country/western/wailing banshee type screeching thing over the dialogue in the opening sequence. If they keep this up, people will find themselves tuning out.
One thing I really hated was the intro music. It was very anti-climatic when compared to the original.

Hot guys + dark subject matter + plenty of violence = watchable television.
