If a fictional television show in 2016 can ruin a fictional television show from 1985 for you, you must have had one pretty unmemorable childhood. My childhood sucked but no TV show, no matter how much I loved it, is or was more important to me than the actual people around me.
I loved the original "MacGyver". I would video tape every episode and watch it over and over again until the next episode aired - then repeat the process again. The fact that I not only watch but like this version of "MacGyver" in no way takes away or harms my memories of the original. It's the so called fans of the original who are basically trashing this version of it over the littlest of details who are ruining the original for me because they're making me sorry that I am a fan of the original.
I had a very memorable childhood.. it was filled with pain, anguish and suffering.. and tv was an escape for me, an when i found a show that made me wanna be better i latched onto it because it made all the horrors go away.. so im sry u dont get it but for me its just not a show its a memory i want to keep intact.. but i dont have to watch the reboot im just sad that capitalist america felt that destroying a legend was worth it.. suck it
The show was a huge part of my childhood too. The reboot in no way "ruins" thr original for me. I can enjoy both. The original still exits, it hasn't been obliterated out of existence because a new reboot is on.
Hot guys + dark subject matter + plenty of violence = watchable television.
The "reboot" has no effect on the original. Just like the fans of the original who are critical or the "reboot" should have no effect on how anyone feels about the original.
