If u want richard back........JUST LISTEN TO WHAT HE SAID

So....the responsible for this mess is hoping that the real mac = Richard will be ba back when the show will stand on his feet as he has a great reccuring role for him.

DID HE EVEN HEARD WHAT RICHARD SAID ABOUT THIS NEW MAC SHOW ?

Richard said this show is an insult to the loyal fans and that he has nothing to do with it.

so mister......why don't u listen to what Richard claims do the things u need to, respect the fans bring him back and save the series.

No he didn't call it an insult.

So many people have responded to the attempted "reboot" of the MacGyver franchise, and a lot of people have asked me if I'm going to be in the new show, or am I going to produce it, or, yada.

And all I can say is, I'm not considering being a part of a project that has overlooked the insanely LOYAL FANS of the original character and has proceeded without considering how and why they all became and STAYED loyal fans...

Yes, I was asked, but no, I won't be involved in the MacGyver reboot. I have tried to recognize that there really is a balance to be found here. Hence, my loyalty to my fans.

I have no idea how it has overlooked the fans and as being a loyal fan I'm giving the new show a chance which I am enjoying so far. It was ok'd by the original shows creator & producer and it's also not the first time another MacGyver show has happened even if it didn't make it.

The original series along with the television films are on DVD in a complete collection for $50 that loyal fans can have. So it has been archived for the future and not going to be out of existence because of the new series. I have every Stargate season and even RDA's show Legend is on DVD that I have.

In fewer words IT WAS AN INSULT TO THE TRUE LOYAL FANS.

1) Overlooked means they rebooted the series bringing that guy in the place of Richard.....now if u are a true fan u know RICHARD = AGNUS MACGYVER......AND NOT LUCAS TILL
what the fans wanted is for Richard to be back even in a small role as MacGyver and present lucas till as his son...nephew...etc....so to be a continuation of timeline.........but no.......they said.....THE BEEP WITH THE TRUE FANS.

2) why the fans stayed loyal.....MacGyver is not an action hero but they made him like one in the new series.....the original MacGyver series were unique exactly cause mac used his mind...not his muscles or weapons.....he was not another james bond mission impossible hero.

NOW DUDE.....IF U ARE A TRUE LOYAL FAN THEN U KNOW I'M RIGHT ON THIS.

THERE CAN BE NO MACGYVER SERIES WITHOUT RICHARD DEAN ANDERSON.

I'm a fan of the original, and I enjoy the reboot. There's no reason why I shouldn't! I don't feel it's being disloyal to the original to like the reboot. 30 years has passed. It's impossible to be disloyal to a television show that hasn't been on the air with new episodes in almost 30 years.

Yes RDA will always be Mac, but that still doesn't mean that a person can't enjoy the reboot because there is a different person playing Mac. And he has been asked to come back. They're all set for him to come back, it's already written but he turns them down without really thinking about it every time. And honestly, have you seen a picture of him? I wouldn't be surprised if his health isn't good enough to allow him to film a television show right now.

MacGyver is not an action hero but they made him like one in the new series.

Yes, Mac used his brain but guess what, 2016 Mac is also using his brain. And considering it was 1985 - 1992 there was a hell of a lot of action in that show for it's time. Does it compare the the amount of action now, NO, but it also shouldn't compare to the amount of action now. Television has changed, television programs have changed, television viewers have changed, and the world outside of the studio has changed.

"MacGyver (1985)" (as IMDB labels it) was a product of it's time and the world it was being filmed in. "MacGyver (2016)" is a product of now and needs to be a product of the world as it is now not back in 1985.

I Hope he continues to say no to this, the new MacGyver needs to die, it's a joke and an insult to the classic tv show.

I feel the show isn't merely an insult to fans of the original but to everyone because it fails to capture the essence of the original and instead relies on lazy writing and production.

MacGyver wasn't 100% accurate, but it was always plausible by using real science (with key omissions for safety) in a fun way to both entertain, and to inspire people to pursue the study of science, not unlike the way Mythbusters did later. Sadly, they are passing off this new show as scientifically accurate without bothering to get any of the science correct.

this was only one reason it failed BL Alley....another was Richard was not involved to pass the torch and to save some continuity.

with iconic series like MacGyver u can't do that cause fans are always attached to the original and most of the times BEST LEADING ACTOR.

THEY SHOULD RESPECT THE FANS AND BRING THE REAL MAC ON BOARD AND GIVE NOBODY LUCAS OR ANOTHER ...."LUCAS"......ANOTHER NAME......NOT AGNUS MACGYVER NAME.

I am a huge fan of the 80s series.....I waited more than 20 years to see my icon back and what I get ? AN IMPOSTER ?

Also, we had to wait til the end of the series before we even knew his first name and why he hated it. Will we get to see his grandfather Harry and have him call Mac Bud? This Mac is 10 yrs younger, so Harry would be too.

I have loved RDA from his days on General Hospital, followed him to MacGyver and then to SG1 and this reboot is a disservice
