So, what do y'all think about this MacGyver (2016) TV show so far?
Let's hear how you feel.
shareCurrently at EP9 - so far I think it started weak and confusing, but is getting better.
I'd it is good entertainment, but currently lacks the slower pace that the original had (while focussing on the characters beside the main episode story etc. ) .
And I really have to laugh about the cgi effects. Give me a day time to learn something about Adobe Aftereffects , and I'll do the same kind of explosions and bullet impacts :D Film makers, please do the real thing (but don't blow yourselves up or shoot anyone) , CGI is crap unless it's made so professionally that you can't tell if it's real or fake.
Before anyone gets too hooked on the OP's desire for info, consider this:
http://www.imdb.com/user/ur67503435/ It goes on for 7+ pages (IMDB didn't allow going back any further).
I'm guessing someone is testing their crawler+poster and needed something benign.
It's not as good as the original but a lot better than most crap on today. I'd like to see it come back.
I REALLY miss the theme music! The intro music should be a lot longer and be a modernized version of the original theme!
Jesus NEVER existed! He is Judeo Christian MYTH!
I haven't seen it yet so all my opinions will be biased
but as a 80's baby i can tell its not worth watching since this generation has no heart and passion, im watching a rerun of an old episode where pete has glaucoma
see what i'm saying? its not all about doing action hero stuff and looking cool, its about touching the heart of people
hell in two or three episodes I remember watching they used the girl who laters plays as blossum and now amy on 'big bang theory' and that episode was about teenagers having drinking problems
THAT's how you make a macgyver episode, there was one where macgyver uses a staple gun on a baddie to stop him from moving, its funny and also telling the audience he never uses guns, i.e a hero that is meaningful
yeah, I watched the first episode of the first season the other night, and while it has nuances that it shares with the original show, it's lacking the feel of the original show.
They tried to convert it into Macgyver-as-James-Bond.
I would say not as good as the original, but good popcorn fare, something fun to end the week. I agree with a couple of others here that they could stand to do some character development stories.
It definitely started out weak and over-the-top. It's gotten better as the season has gone on. The cast has good chemistry, which is important and not always natural. I like the new boss, although I'm interested to see what they do with the old boss who was supposedly a traitor. That felt rushed and a little too pat, so I assume there's more coming with that story.
I am a little afraid that they're going to take the road of Hawaii Five O and devolve into insane, completely unbelievable plot lines. They're sort of there already on a small scale with a few of Macs inventions.
