There doesn't seem to be any reason why they went to Istanbul, rather than Brian working there. I think it would have been more fitting to set it in L.A. In a way, it's kind of scarier to see men come from another continent to where you live, to get revenge on you, rather than waiting till you go to another country.
What do you think?
If it was set in LA Bryan Mills would have his buddies as back up & those guys from Tropoja wouldn't stand a chance to even get near his family.. me thinks

...then whoa, differences...
They probably couldn't get into the United States to go after him. All the friends and family of the people he killed would probably be on the U.S terrorist watch lists after what happened. So their only hope to get at him would be if he ever left America.
