I disagree. Curry did a TREMENDOUS job but his costume and make up made him simply look like a man in a Clown suit. He was never scary except for when his fangs would show and Curry changed his expression to being evil.
In the book, it never hinted that IT was trying to be an innocent looking Clown. That's why I think they want for a more demonic look in the movie.
It sounds like you're gonna have trouble accepting it because you're gonna be busy comparing Tim with Bill. I would focus more on the storyline if you give this movie a chance.
The original had problems the budget was very low because it was a tv movie so I know the costume and makeup of Pennywise wasn't very good. I am more talking about the Pennywise as character in the book he is creepy and mysterious but also intelligent this looks like loudy dwarf with autism and i supposed to be scared by him but i find him more hilarious. It can turn out good who knows but it doesn't look like
