Sick of italian mob boss movies? Watch this instead!

This movie delivers.

The end scene reminded me of Scarface, I do believe that the staircase is actually identical with the one in the Al Pacino movie, minus the pool.
Plus it's just goes to show how efficient a two man hit team is against a villa full of mobsters

Great flick!

Mister Nickerson,

The director's decision to delete the flashback with Mickey & the Wife, made the Mickey killing scene all the more interestig to me.

I knew he did sleep with the wife, because he didn't reacted like an innocent man getting shot would ( screaming his eyes out of his head, shouting " WTF? why did you do that for?!" ) I was inclined for a short while to believe him, but then as soon as he hears his Boss " I'm sorry, I had to make sure" Mickey lets the whole thing fly, like it doesn't matter he has a hole the size of a ping pong ball in his leg, it's alright, he was getting shot for no reason, his boss made a mistake, now they're friends again.
once more, I do believe an innocent person at that point would be a little pissed of at his boss, no matter how crazy he knows/thinks he is. Pain brings anger in a man. Near death pain brings sooo much more.

And in the end, I thought they would both die in that mansion.
It looked like a Kamikaze mission.
It does seem kinda impossible for a two men crew to blow all those mobsters away. I always had a fantasy ( in writing scripts) about two friends doing something like this.
But I doubt these characters could've pulled through.
Maybe if they were ex Seals or Spetznaz. Still, this endeavour would've been really risky.

Glad to hear from you. Good luck on your projects , keep it up, it's an honour to have had this discussion with you.

Thanks for the thoughts. I was a bit annoyed when the director made his cuts, but I like your read on Mickey. Insightful. I like hearing from people who pay attention to the below-the-surface nuances a movie has to offer.

They didn't die in the mansion, but they didn't come out unscathed. I've always enjoyed placing the tough anti-hero in a seemingly impossible scenario. Makes for some exciting cinema.

Hey, if I had a paranoid jealous boss I would stammer with denial too.
That doesn't mean I slept with the guy's wife, it just means I'm afraid of my boss and I respect his autority.

Every guy caught watching the boss's wife's ass feels really scared, especially if the boss is one experienced hitman.
Put yourself in that situation.

It does suck immensly.
Being caught watching your best friend's girlfriend's ass is one thing, but when it's the bosses wife you know you're in for some deep s hit.

So stammering with detail in that scene didn't called it for me.
Being shot in the leg and still getting really cheery and happy to forgive your insane trigger happy boss who is still accusing you of sleeping his wife does kinda yell out suspicious for me.

That was kind of the harbinger of things to come for poor Mickey...
