I reviewed the film here, maybe it clarifies the movie for you a little bit. I just can't make it a good movie, which it's not. And yeah, the movie kinda drops her fairly quickly.

Don't really like comedy drama
I think I was more expecting how the downsized people interacted with the regular sized ones and was hoping to see a lot more large/small comparisons like the crackers and yellow rose.
