Now, I'd like to see this relationship develop--and if they team Anna up with Deeks while Kensi "recovers," I hope she tells him where to shove it when he pries into her personal life/relationship with G (because you know he will; he's such a nosy old man--no offense to all the old men out there).
I'm very interested in Granger's past. I hope they clarify his relationship with his daughter. Why did they make it seem at first he never knew he had a child to then change it to yeah he did but they weren't close.
I definitely want to see more of Anna and G. They're the sexiest couple on the show--not that I watch it for sex. I'd like to see much less of Densi, but that's not gonna happen, so G & Anna would balance that out.
If the writers spend their time digging into each character's past, there won't be any time for actual cases; that's one reason the ratings dropped so much Season 7. Granger should remain a supporting character (I like Miguel, but he's not "leading man" material in NCIS: LA -- unless they're trying to appeal to the "older" crowd--no offense). What they need--to appeal to ALL the viewers--are better stories!!
I imagine the woman in the bed with Granger was a "working girl." Who else would sleep with him? Seriously?
--> Agree! I like the concept of Anna's character (being Arkady's daughter & Callen liking her) but the acting by the actress who plays her is horrible. Worst actor/actress to appear on this show. And Kim Raver's acting in "Red" was really bad, which was a surprise because I loved her on Third Watch.
Her acting may not be the best (I don't think it's the worst), but I like her relationship with Callen--and the fact that she's Arkady's daughter just adds to it! Besides, she seems perfect for Callen--even down to being Russian (SO much better than Joelle)--and he deserves a romantic partner.
Callen was born in Romania - so why does it matter that Anna is Russian? Her (bad) acting (on this show - I haven't seen her in anything else) REALLY stands out, especially when she's in scenes with Chris O'Donnell and Linda Hunt.
But Callen's father is Russian (there's a connection). And she and Chris have so much MORE of a "spark" 🔥 as G and Anna (IMO) than Kensi and Deeks (these two are like brother and sister with their constant silly "discussions"). "Densi" reminds me of college coeds ("role playing"? really? If they're aiming for '50 shades,' they're no more than 10 shades ). G & Anna seem like lovers -- and they don't need to "role play" to make it 🔥 (like Sam & Michelle) -- again, IMO.
Totally agree with you on the "Densi" chemistry. So many viewers see/feel the chemistry but for me it's non-existent except as friends/work partners. As for Anna & Callen - I didn't see/feel any sparks/chemistry between them but I attribute that to the bad acting from her. Here's hoping that she has improved since last season 'cause it seems she is going to be around for a while.
the producers are just bending over backwards to please all the Densi shippers, but if you look at the bigger picture, the Densi shippers are just a minor albeit very vocal group in the fandom, the majority of the viewers actually dislike Densi and don't see the chemistry between them.
I see more chemistry between Callen & Anna than any of the Densi scenes combined...like another user said, Densi are too much like brother & sister.
Where is your evidence to support that? Unless you can poll a good size chunk of the current NCIS LA fans, and not just the moaners who come here, you are in no position to talk about the "majority of the viewers".
The fact you have read some threads here from people who do not like Densi is far from an indicator. If you like something you don't need to come onto a forum to tell everyone about it, but if you hate them, this is where you come.
I've seen people on here complaining about just about every single cast member on this show, even Hetty. if they were to be believed there would be no show. Same goes for pretty much every show on television.
From experience of these forums, people usually come here to complain, not compliment. Best to stick with your opinion, rather than trying to pretend you know what the millions of other fans think. We do not all think the same as you.
FYI I go to many different websites, forums and social media, IMDb is not the only site on the internet you know.
I have been to so many different websites, forums and fansites for NCIS:LA and I base my judgment on my observations of fan reactions and comments on these sites. And the truth is, I have seen much more people disliking and complaining about Densi on all these sites in general than people who support them. And it's not just on this board, like I said before, I see plenty of hate for Densi on social media as well and the numerous other discussion forums I go to. Probably about 60% of everyone I have encountered who watch this show dislike Densi, and only about 20-25% are either Densi shippers or they like them, and the rest just don't care about them. So I have every right to express my observations here, I may dislike Densi, but I'm not bias, I am merely expressing my observations, and the truth is, from what I have observed, there are far more people who dislike Densi than those who do. Feel free to disagree with me, but it does not change my observations.
I'm guessing most of the general audience still tune in either because they like the other characters (like me), or they just like to watch the crimes and don't really care about the characters.
Agree with your observations about other sites. I find a lot of viewers are BORED with "Densi"--for good reason, IMO. And everyone has a right to voice his/her opinion. 👍
The "evidence" that many (maybe even a majority of) regular NCIS: LA viewers aren't enamored with "Densi" are the ratings from Season 7 when the stories focused so heavily on that pair--and the ratings tanked.
Also, if you look at many of those who comment on the various sites (including this one) and LOVE "Densi," you find that a huge number live outside the U.S. and are not part of the U.S. viewing audience. "Densi" has a tremendous following among viewers in Europe and Asia (check out some of the sites and see for yourself). But, even though "Densi" may be very popular among the global viewership, that doesn't help it in the U.S. with ratings--and the ratings last year (and in previous years) demonstrated that. If you look at the ratings themselves, you'll find that for several years, the majority of episodes that focused on "Densi" did poorer among U.S. viewers than other episodes. The CBS executives are more concerned about U.S. ratings than the ramblings of fans--like me--and those tell the story about what U.S. viewers watch (and consequently, like).
I agree about the concept of Anna. I just feel they created a very two-dimensional character. Someone I have a hard time believing can ever be Arkady's daughter.
when it comes to Arkady, nothing will surprise me anymore...he is mysterious, he has many secrets and skeletons in his closet and he is unpredictable (it's one of the main reasons why he's such an interesting character to me) so when it comes to what kind of offsprings he has produced, I wouldn't have a clue, anything is possible with Arkady, and I can believe he fathered someone like Anna...heck, it wouldn't surprise me if he turns out to have another child who happens to be a psycho terrorist or serial killer, or even another daughter who turns out to be a nun.
Totally agree about Arkady--we have no idea about his past except he was former KGB and helped people escape to the West (that's a contradiction in itself).
Oh, I COMPLETELY disagree! Arkady is definitely a ladies' man! He has charm, good looks (in the opinion of some), a terrific sense of humor, and money! I can definitely see Anna as his daughter. Arkady's an old-fashioned scoundrel (kind of like the good friend Hetty wrote a eulogy for on his typewriter in Season 1--the man she said Callen would have really liked).
Not an Anna fan either. If you look at the episodes she has been in so far, she hasn't brought anything significant to the show. The episodes would have still gone and ended the very same way without her. And she is either in trouble or gotten herself in a mess that the team has to bail her out. Also, if she is supposedly to partner up with Callen in upcoming episodes how is that a good idea? They have a major security breach in their office with the mole, and they bring her in? And I'm guessing she is not a federal agent, and her father is a former KGB operative. I did like the idea of the character, but the writers kind of ruined it. Joelle was kind of growing on me. She seemed to ground Callen a little bit.
I liked Joelle--but not for Callen (too proper and mousy). Anna used to work for Detroit PD, so she must have some clearance and Arkady is now a US citizen, so his background as a KGB agent may not be an issue (but his "business dealings" may be). I think the combination of Callen and Anna has much more dramatic potential--and Hetty evidently wants her on the team or, at least, working with NCIS. Besides, I think it would be hilarious to have Callen "dating" Arkady's daughter!
I agree Callen dating Anna would make such a fascinating couple and it would give room for some interesting and awkward comedic interactions between Callen and Arkady
Any other pairing on this show is more interesting to watch for me than the Densi crap.
Honestly I really enjoyed the show more during seasons 1-4. Where they just focused on the crime part and not everyone's love lives. I get that characters need to grow and develop as the show goes on, but it seems like the focus has shifted to who is dating who and less on the case they are working on.
I LOVE having Anna back!! It's great that Callen may finally have a woman!! Notice how he looked at her when she was cuffing that bad gal? He had something on his mind!! 😋
So, Kensi and Deeks get engaged and then marry, but how about this for a plot twist: Anna and G have a child. They've been building up G's ability to relate to children; maybe this is down the road. Could be interesting. It happens.
I don't know who Anna is, and it took me a minute to realize who Grisha is. To me he' simply Callen. Wish this show went back to how it was in the first two or three seasons. Used to be a lot more entertaining when it wasn't bogged down with all this annoying personal drama.
