So, they're just gonna end it there?

Kensi about to be tortured by Sullivan? I hope that son of a gun gets what he deserves.

reply

I agree it was a very harsh cliffhanger....

reply

Plus his annoying and awkwardly slow talking when he's about to torture Kensi was enough to make me wanna kill him. This is NCIS, not freaking 300.

reply

Indeed...quite the way to leave us hangin' until the next new episode.

reply

He was cutting off her leg. Hope someone gets there in time.

reply

Something has to happen in the next five seconds of that scene, though. Because I don't think this show can really go THAT dark.

reply

Nate bursts in and saves her

reply

Nate is out of town, just like Anna.
Okay, somebody clarify--WHEN did Kensi shoot Ferris (Sullivan)?

reply

hmmm. then I got nothing. They are her only hope. Unless Vancouver sends the RED team

reply

I think they implied it was in her Marine sniper days, before she was with NCIS...

reply

No. Because Sabatino (and Ferris, I think) said something about this NCIS team going to Afghanistan. If they'd just stayed in LA, but going to Afghanistan they screwed up the CIA plans.

reply

Remember a couple seasons ago just when Deeks and Kensie were getting hot and heavy she got sent to Afganistan on a a sniper mission? They thought it was Hettie or Granger separating them. Kensie did some long range shooting, but eventually let the target get away, or so I recall. Not one of their better story arcs in my opinion.

reply

Sometime when she was in Afghanistan. A few seasons back... I think it had something to do when when she found her ex fiancé guy.

reply

that was quite a dark cliffhanger and I can't wait to see what happens next...but damn it we have to wait 3 weeks for the next episode? what the hell is CBS thinking?! Argh!

reply

I know. My thoughts exactly.

reply

I'm also thinking that its Nate or Anna that will save her, but he will run away and is the bad guy for a while.

Some claim its Duggan, who got so cleanly "sniped" and put away so fast who is behind it. Maybe there is personal reason to that or they all went simply bonkers.

reply

If he cuts off her leg without cauterizing, she would bleed to death.

reply

The only mystery is what cliched reason they'll use to keep him from cutting off her leg, since that's obviously not going to happen. It would mean the end of her days as a field agent and I really can't see the actress being OK with having her role changed to a supporting desk job.

In the episode about the gold heist, Granger was looking at Kensi as Asst. Director. Maybe it's time for her promotion. Then she wouldn't team up with Deeks--that would be great 'cause I hate them in the field together.

reply

Granger propositioned Kensi, Sam and Callen about the Asst. Director role. It could be her, though I would've expected Sam or Callen first, as they're more senior. However, they probably have to stay in the field as they're the most popular partnership, and the show needs them. So maybe Kensi does become Asst. Director and is in the field a bit, because Granger did go into the field occasionally.

Lets also not forget Nell, who has been groomed to take over Hetty's role. So maybe Hetty moves to Asst. Director and Nell to Operations Manager.

She is the right size... 

If he cuts her leg off then she can change her name to Eileen...

Are you really my brother? Since when are you on IMDb?

How would you feel if someone shot you just because of mistaken identity...? Kensi (and everybody involved in that operation) should get reprimanded for that. But obviously not in the "eye for an eye"-way that the guy is about to do with Kensi.

I've got nothing against God, it's his fanclub I can't stand

reply

But still...

reply

I got the feeling the CIA were running black ops and not telling anyone...

But maybe NCIS were doing the same - in this show, these two agencies in particular seem to like going off the books!

Makes for fun TV

This is the teaser from the CBS website about "Payback": Emotions run high for the team as one agent is held in an unknown location and tortured by the mole, while another discovers he was betrayed by someone he least expected.

So, here's an idea: Maybe Kensi isn't the agent being tortured--technically, Ferris wasn't the mole (Sabatino was). Besides, does Ferris want to torture her or is he just interested in "an eye for an eye," or in this case, a leg for a leg?

As for the person betrayed, maybe it's Sam who was betrayed by Michelle. Both Michelle and Sabatino work for the CIA. Maybe the betrayal has nothing to do with the mole; maybe Michelle was unfaithful to Sam and had an affair with Sabatino (yuck).

In interviews, both LL and Chris said there were two moles. Were they talking about Carl and Sabatino? They also said viewers wouldn't figure out the big payoff at the end of this arc. If there aren't any more surprises, that's a big letdown. I expected someone from the actual NCIS team--not a bit player (Carl) or someone from another agency (Sabatino).

reply

LL did say things will be happening with Sam's family. But these clues have been misleading, so I really don't know what to expect. At least if Michelle were involved it would be more compelling. Though I still think it should have been Deeks, the fallout would have been so huge and interesting.

reply

I agree--if it had been Deeks that would have been a shock, and I think a good one because it could have gone so many different ways.

The clues have been misleading, but I think that's more because people restate them in their own way (kind of like that old game--telephone?--where somebody whispers something and by the time it travels the circle, it's nothing like the original).

Here's my latest theory: 

Kensi gets rescued early in the episode, and Ferris is killed.
When Sam questions Sabatino, that's when he finds out about Michelle.
The second mole--IF there is a second mole--is Nate (I know he's not in the cast credits, but maybe it's to keep it secret). I hope not because I like Nate, BUT I got to thinking, maybe Nate is really jealous of Callen. Ever since Nate and Rose broke up in season 4, Nate's been alone. He doesn't have a partner; Hetty sends him all over the world and he's always alone. Meanwhile, Callen has a partner and has made a family for himself with NCIS--and he and Hetty have a special relationship. In Head of the Snake, Nate said that both of them had been made by Hetty, but one of them (Callen) always comes out ahead. Besides, in the earlier episodes, Callen was always playing mind games on Nate.

I don't know. That sounds stupid. I just hope the episode isn't a big dud.

reply

Interesting idea.

I hope the agent being tortured isn't Kensi; there's been too much focus on her physical problems this season already. And PLEASE don't let it be Deeks; we'll never hear the end of the sighs and "poor man" and "he's already been through so much this season" by the Densi fanatics and Deeks lovers. 

I'd like to see Nate again, but I wonder if they would keep his name out to keep his appearance a secret. If so, that'd be pretty cool. If there aren't any surprise guests, then it looks like Ferris is the torturer, Kensi's getting tortured, and Joelle is the betrayer--boring.
