The Mole - Worst storyline ever (spoilers ahead)
I usually have a pretty good memory but I have no clue what the team did in Afghanistan or who Sharov was. I vaguely remember Sabatino, but mostly remember he's portrayed by the same actor who was a rogue/AWOL marine on NCIS: Original Receipe and was on a ship called The Damocles with Ziva.
So three CIA guys are behind the mole against the NCIS Los Angeles OSP, and they've been doing this for 2+ years? Talk about a slow play. And what did they and/or the mole really do again? Sabatino sent Kensi a trojan horse in a email which allowed them to make that guy the mole, but when he got busted and there was no mole actually in that office they still had leaks? The CIA guys' motives is representative of the show. The team was in Afghanistan where they didn't belong interfering in something they shouldn't have. I presume Deeks was there, so they dragged along their LAPD liaison to do something far from and likely having little to nothing to do with Los Angeles. When was the last time they needed Deeks to liaise with the LAPD anyway? Likewise, the show has wandered off course doing things that are more appropriate for the CIA, FBI, or NSA and/or have nothing to do with the navy or marine corps.
Pretty much the whole mole storyline was resolved by Hetty getting her team out of the game, waving her magic wand, and ultimately going it alone (after all the help she had temporarily framing member of her own team and breaking the mole out of prison) without any backup and sheer luck that she wasn't quickly killed by the CIA guys or the mole before she could take cover & blow them up. If gunman she killed had a team she'd have been dead before exiting that cabinet. She's lucky her team managed to tracked her there, or else she'd have been along with the mole who had a gun and could have killed first responders to the explosion. Heck, if he survived and Sabatino was alive then they all could have survived, killed her, and escaped without anyone else knowing who captured Kensi.
