I don't get the hate on the storyline

Guess what... this movie wasn't supposed to have a storyline!!!

It was nothing but a feel good comedy. Grown up school buddies take their families on a retreat and everyone hangs around and has some fun together! That is it!

The movie didn't even hint at trying to show anything more than that. It was just about families spending some good times together!

Saying that this movie had a weak storyline completely misses the point of the movie!

Yes, a movie IS supposed to have some semblance of a story! If not, it ain't nothin' but the god awful boring slides or video from your next door neighbor's vacation. And that's exactly what this movie was- god awful and boring!

It did have a story arch, a casual laid back one. Sandler wanted his kids to not be such spoiled brats, Schnieder wanted to get to know his daughters, Rock wanted his wife to respect him, and James needed financial help. After a humorous easy-going weekend, everyone ended up getting what they wanted. That's just fine. It's a comedy, it doesn't have to be epic.

My god...you really think that is a good idea for a film? Why on Earth would anyone pay to see a film with no plot?

This film did not make me 'feel good', i'm glad a didnt pay for it and i watched the last half hour on double speed.

A truly awful film.

Seems to be working pretty good for Louis C.K. and his show Louie.
