I Just Don't Get It!?!?! Major Goof.

i like the movie. it is fun to watch. i watch it with my friends and family. i give it 8 out of 10 units.

there is only one major goof, though, that makes the whole movie unbelievable.

when christopher rock makes dinner for his family they all seem mad that it isn't a pizza. then the mother walks in and surprises them with a single large pizza (but it could be a medium pizza too, i can't tell from my dvd copy because i only have a 19 inch tv). it was a stretch of the imagination to believe that a single pizza would feed a family of four plus a grandma.

unfortunately, the dinner scene where all of the people are at the burger joint reveals a detail that made the pizza scene unbelievable. the grandma tries to order meat loaf, some calzones with marinara on the side, with corn on the cob or whatever they have. it didn't seem like she was going to stop there but she was interupted for some of the guys awesome jokes.

i dont get how the mom thought that a single large pizza would be able to feed a family, especially when the grandma has a big appetite. its just not believable.

did this bug anyone else?

Well, first off, Chris Rock's character wasn't going to have any of the pizza, he was going to eat what he made for the family. As for the rest of them, maybe the kids would only have a slice or two a piece. Maya Rudolph might have a slice and the mom may not like pizza that much.

I noticed the same thing about the pizza! I think this also happened on Full House. I think there was one episode where Danny brought home a single pizza to feed his family of, what, nine people? LOL This doesn't seem plausible. I could be wrong though, I haven't watched it in sooooo long.

You didn't put that Maya Rudolph was pregnant so she probably could have ate the whole thing by herself. And the grandma, well she isn't the skinniest person on the block.

The whole movie was a major goof. I watched only part, and it was unwatchable. PU, a stinker.

that's the problem with society now.
they think they should eat eat and eat.

if everyone in a family of four ate the proper amount of food that they should then one pizza would be enough

Oh, that was the most unrealistic thing you found in the whole movie, so unrealistic that you had to post about it? And the fact that a shlub like Sandler could get a stone-cold smokin' hottie like Salma Hayek, that doesn't upset you? Or that that pimple, Rob Schneider, could possibly have passed any of his genes onto two of his daughters?

More than likely it was a large pizza, so at least 8 slices. If it's a pizza like up here in New York, we also have 1/2 Tray pizzas, which are 12 slices. Growing up, my parents always bought us just a 1/2 tray of pizza for 5 of us (6 total, but my dad didn't eat pizza). My daughter is 12 and only eats one slice of pizza. My ex wife would only eat maybe two at most. So this pizza she brought in could easily feed them all.
