It's a double-edged sword. My kids haven't done as much physically as I did when I was growing up, but they also don't have the scars, broken bones, aching joints that I do.
My son isn't nearly as good at baseball and other sports as I was, but he's miles ahead of where I was in school. Is part of that because he spends more time on the computer or reading than I did? Yes. Am I happy about it? Sometimes. Sometimes not.
My friends all thought I'd be all over my son's butt about being a jock, but I don't have it in me. I will ask him about shooting hoops or such, but I'm not going to yell at him if he'd rather read a book or such.
Yes, Sandler should have been doing more with his kids, but it is easy to get caught up in your own life and making a living.
I'm glad that he figured it out eventually and became more involved. It's why I think a lot of people who didn't like this film were too young to get it.
