I just lost interest

It's quite clever and I like the cast but somewhere along the way of this very long film it became an exercise in getting to the end. Doubtless there are things I missed and discussions to be had but I didn't care. Perhaps it's just too clever for it's own good? Too clever for me anyway.

I thought I hadn't watched this film before but there were flashes of familiarity so I guess I'd missed rating it on IMDb, which if my usual way of keeping track. That I'd forgotten such a big stylish film is a good indicator I was not impressed the first time.

I agree. It's a clever premise and has a number of good scenes and characters, but overall I felt the film wasn't engaging and it was a chore trying to sit thru the entire movie and pay attention to what was going on. I lost interest numerous times.

I think this answer would describe what I think about the movie even better than my own answer lol.

I barely got through it. I find the version of dreams depicted in it radically unlike my experience or anything anybody has ever told me about. Frankly, even Dreamscape (1984) seemed more like what dreams are to me.
And, the movie just kinda bored me. Confusion of dreams and reality as a plot element didn't seem particularly novel and the characters didn't interest me.

My opinion about the movie is like in a sort of middle ground: I liked the movie... but I'm not impressed like a lot of people seem to be. I mean... I don't really feel the need to rewatch it from time to time like some people I know... but it was a pleasant watch nevertheless.

It is a clever movie and, like other Nolan's movies, you focus and try to follow the complex plot. But it drags on and at one point I'm just like "yeah, maybe it is unnecessarily over complicated". Of course, this is just my opinion, because there is a reason why it is so revered. But yeah... I'd rather rewatch Momento, which is my Nolan's favorite.
