If only I had a dollar for every time I rolled my eyes during this movie.

The "profound" acting and line delivery. The baby-faced actors trying to portray grown-ups. The over-the-top, incessant and totally unnecessary gun battles. I'm surprised I didn't detach my retinas, tbh. This ain't no 8.8/10!

You can’t be serious?

reply

Serious as cancer.

reply

And just as hated.

reply

I agree with the OP. This movie is unbelievably meh.

reply

Fix your attitude and maybe (just maybe).. something will tear your soul apart.

reply

Whoa. That was profound, bro.

reply

Whoaaa..

... how adult of thee. So you tellin’ us you sat through it, had a miserable time with it, and now you’re expressing your dissatisfaction with it in a most pompous way? *rolls eye*

In Nelson’s voice: HAHA! XD

reply

Don't tease us then. How many dollars would you have? $10? $15?

reply

It’s replies to stupid topics like you folks here have made that give me hope for the future of our species.

reply

And you English is even worse than the post...

reply

I just gave a compliment to everyone who has posted on this topic in reply to the OP. Courtesy doesn’t usually prompt an attack, so I am surprised; but if you really hate the way that I write, you of course must express your view.

I see nothing wrong with his English. Please teach us. "He who correcteth me handeth me a gold coin"

On topic: I like Inception quite a bit. Nolan is real hit/miss with me. I thought Dunkirk was 6/10 at best and his Batman movies an overrated mix of varying quality. The only Nolan movies that I really enjoy are Memento, The Prestige, and Inception and I really like those three.

reply

I agree. This is a 7, at best, and I'm being generous. It's a little boy's attempt at trying to do a high concept sci fi, without the intelligence and maturity to pull it off. Nolan is a skilled filmmaker, but he's very shallow intellectually. He's almost like a modern day George Lucas. very good at coming up with interesting ideas and sequences but needs smarter people to help make the most out of them.

LOL'ed when you talked about baby-faced actors trying to act grownup. This is exactly what I thought when I saw Jason Gordon Levitt. He sounded so forced with that voice he kept putting on trying to sound adult. I can't believe this is the performance that made him a movie star.

BTW, getting rid of Lukas Haas in the first sequence? Why would you get a veteran actor like him to play a character that gets written off in the beginning?

reply

nobody cared about Haas then or now

I thought it was just me, my wife loved the damn thing.

By 30 minutes in I was bugging her with, 'What just happened? Who's that again? But I thought this part was the dream?'.

By minute 45 I just didn't give a shit anymore, and went to sleep.

I guess I just wasn't smart enough to get it.

reply

Thank You! Thought it was just me, wife loved this steaming pile.

THIS^

I never got what all the shooting was about.
The South Park parody episode illustrates this well.
