Ellen Page The Weak Link

Totally mis-cast.

This is exactly what I was thinking when I watched it last night. She is really terrible throughout the film, like she's trying way too hard. Big flaw in the movie.

shes was supposed to be the audience introduction into the story a fresh character that asks the questions we need to know

Any idea of which actress would have fit this role?

__________
Last movie watched: The Bad and the Beautiful (8/10)

I think Scarlett would have done a great job.

"Danny's not here, Mrs. Torrence"

And would've looked amazing in that business suit.

She didn't work for me either I don't necessarily blame her though the character comes off as an annoying nag I doubt that was her choice...

reply

I think her character balanced out the other personalities.
Thought she was great personally.

reply

I agree with you.I don't like her.

Ellen Page portrays the character nicely. I like how she gives an aura of intelligence, energy and vulnerability. I also love the interaction between Tom Hardy's and Joseph Gordon-Levitt's character, they are awesome

She worked fine for me. She was playing a mousy academic type that was never intended to come along until she convinced Cobb that he needed to bring her in. When you say "mis-cast", you need to explain what you thought she was being cast as, and why you don't think she fit. She wasn't being cast as an action hero, or a femme fatale, or as comic relief, three examples of casting choices that were made for this film. She was being cast as a girl from the university trying to keep a level head and an outsider willing to take Cobb to task for endangering them, something the other characters (mostly Arthur) who actually knew Cobb barely did. Not sure how an alternate casting would have improved on Ellen Page's portrayal. If you just don't like her as an actress or find her unattractive, that's quite another issue from that of casting, which implies a very specific question and argumentation, as I addressed above.

I think she did well with her character
