Similiarity between Jesus and Sonmi

After watching the movie I curiosly wonder : Who is this Sonmi and why is her story being the most significant? Is she the Jesus of her generation? And...... oh wait. Yeah, of course she is. And, that's the point all of her story. Someone who had awesome word that challanged old idea and system. Executed, then her death inspired a movement that changed the world.

"....not quite the same Sonmi (/Jesus) that you know"

But, if you can make it real which one would you choose. A) Jesus is God? B) Jesus is just like Sonmi?

I don't ask about your belief. I ask if somehow you had power to make it real so which one. Maybe, the 'cliche' answer i expected like, oh, I want to make heaven real. Heaven is cool. Hell is cool too, cause all'em bad guys go there. Or. I'd rather to chase any asses i like. Sorry, no rules from above. Rules is bad.

Jesus sacrificed his life to defeat sin. Sonmi essentially sacrificed nothing and defeated nothing, her fate was the same as it would have been if she did not leave Papa Song's and she accomplished more or less nothing. In the book she accomplished even less, it was revealed in a plot twist that her "mission" was a lie and Hae-Joo Im (different name in the book) and everyone else were all actors employed by the government to fish out potential rebels and eliminate them. Hardly a "son of God, sent to earth" type of story.

I haven't read the book but in the film is clear that in the future Sonmi was regarded as some sort of Martin Luther King type idol with some even worshipping her as a deity, it's not clear what happened after she died but I wouldn't say it was meaningless. She scarified her life, the same as Jesus, to try and make all worlds a better place.
What did Jesus sacrifice? In his story he knows god exists, he knows he is guaranteed a place in heaven, he even comes back to life after a few days, I would say he scarified nothing and what did he defeat? Sin still exists, Christians still believe people go to hell. If anything Somni is the more admirable one by comparison.

Jesus defeated sin in the sense that he took the punishment for all past and future sin so that humans, even though they still have sin, no longer need to be punished for it. This is provided that those humans accept Jesus's gift into their heart, and of course this depends on what you believe.

As for his sacrifice, he had to experience a human death and go to hell. He was resurrected after 3 days of our time, which solidified the defeat of sin, but he did need to lower himself, as a part of God, to the death of a sinner first.

All I meant was that while Sonmi's message inspired people, it accomplished very little in the grand scheme of things. Although we don't know what caused the catastrophe that resulted in Zachry's world. It could have resulted from a war begun by Sonmi's words or an even greater disaster.

Like Sonmi. I believe if he existed at all, that is the case. There is historical evidence that the "Messenger is God" concept was attributed to Jesus long after he died.
