A 4 hour director's cut for this movie exists

So, a senior guy in Netflix told reporters that there is a 4 hour cut for this movie and it would apparently blow us away. I love this movie immensely and I think the length of the movie is just right. Any thoughts?

These pretzels are making me THIRSTY...

I am ready for this!!! They better release it! The current length IS just right for a general audience.... Director's Cut would be a dream for it's cult following though.

Really interested in watching one. I hated the movie at fist, now it's one of my favorite movies of all time.

That sounds perfect, since I was overall disappointed with how little time was spent on each story. (I also read the book)

Where is it!!!! Gimme!!!!!!

I would honestly hold a viewing party for this, even if I was the only one to show up

I just love that idea you threw out-- hosting a viewing party (for any film) even if you're the only one in attendance!

I don't know why, but I just pictured it in my mind and I liked what I saw.

First off let me say I saw this film when it first came out. I probably posted hundreds of comments on the film, but IMDB deleted all older posts, so they are all gone, but believe me, I spent more time on this board than any other.

The film is a masterpiece and one of the many reasons for that is the way all the pieces come together, and in many different ways. One way might be just one scene to another something is said that connects the two pieces, even though the 2 scenes are at 2 different times in the film. Another might be what happens to one character in one scene might carry to the next scene, such as when Nurse Noakes dies in the Pub and the next scene where Bill Smoke dies, both characters played by Hugo and both being struck over the head. Another example would be when Zachary, sees from afar, the smoke of his village being burned, next scene Sonmi-351 sees the factory from afar with the black smoke billowing. In both cases people being killed and to go one step further, for food in both cases. There are 100's of examples how all these scenes intertwine and that for this reason I do not see how or why there would be anymore useful footage?

The W's said they cut the film precisely and stopped when they knew it was perfect.

I say keep it just that way. Don't mess with perfection. Sure, there's always footage left on the floor, but trust me, none of it will improve what is already perfect.

From what I understand the Wachowski's were not at all happy with the final cut and the four hour version is what they actually wanted.
