Fk The Revenant: This is the best film of 2015 no question about it

It's practically criminal that this, the best film of 2015 was ran over like a steamroller by the Revenant, which by all accounts was an excellent film, but flawed nonetheless. It's rare that a film like this is made anymore. Truly a haunting masterpiece.

The Revenant is excellent and so is this movie. There was no reason to snub this movie other than the Netflix deal and maybe race.

It IS a haunting masterpiece!

It's ok to like more than one actor. :))

Agreed. There truly aren't many films geared to move you in this particular way. Irreversible, Braveheart, The Passion of the Christ, Natural Born Killers, Martyrs(Original French Version), Enter the Void, Beasts of No Nation, Apocalypse Now, Platoon, El Salvador, Apocalypto, The Grey Zone, Son of Saul, MacBeth, Come and See, The Shining, A Clockwork Orange, Full Metal Jacket, etcetera....

Films that utilize shocking levels of realistic violence to nudge your ego out of the safe zone so that your brain will be in receiver-mode to accept some emotional realization from the writer/director of said films. The directors and writers who actually understand how to do this properly you could count on two hands, at any rate, I'm eternally grateful for being exposed to such powerful realistic portrayals of suffering and violence as well as the touching displays of humanity and personal longing peppered throughout such amazing films. 

Over the weekend I went and saw the Revenant and the next day watched Beast of No Nation, I liked BONN better.
