Film Snubbed by 2016 Academy Awards

I was a bit surprised that the film as a whole, as well as its two main actors, Idris Elba and Abraham Attah, were snubbed in this year's Oscar nominations.

Attah in particular gave one of the most powerful and searing performances of 2015. This is a major Oscar fail.

I wonder if the controversy over the Netflix's distribution deal played a role.

I'd say it deserved nods for director, supporting actor, and cinematography at least

I don't really get why are people giving oscars so much credibility. It's been over a decade since they last time awarded a movie I thought was the best

Oscars are a long fashion show where bunch of people who think they are best pretend they are surprised they won an award, yet they all seem to have speech ready.

The main kid and Idris both deserved a nomination, and I would also give one to Fukunaga as well.

the movie theater boycott killed any chance this film had with nominations.
