Who cares if The Academy is racist?
Only the pseudo intellectuals pay attention to them and their choices haven't influenced the viewing public in decades.

Except, the avast isn't racist. Failing to meet an arbitrary quota isn't racist by anyone's definition.

shareThe problem is that the academy is mainly composed of grey haired, white, male, producers. The implication of this is that it limits the varying stories they tell.
It's like when Hollywood finds a black actor/actress or, hell, woman that makes them money, they cast them in every role to fit that type, and then begrudgingly wink wink at you to say, "See! We can't be racist/sexist." Jennifer Lawrence, Michael B. Jordan, Viola Davis, wonderful actors, but they're that 1 in 10,000.
