Did Maxine have to kill Pearl? I get it on an emotional and metaphorical level (kill yourself to become the monster). But if she had left Pearl and gone to find the sheriff, she would have been exonerated.
Or was it because she was on the run from her past and it would have proven her evangelical father 'correct' that pornography leads to a life of sin?
What is the significance of her snorting coke throughout the film?
And just recalled, Maxine will have a hard time getting famous because the cops found the camera with footage of her so she'll be wanted for questioning at least, if not the prime suspect for the murders. She's kinda screwed in the next chapter...
shareI'd be more curious about what she does when she runs outta coke.. she looked lovely in her one sex scene & running over the old lady was done because the bitch killed her buddies & boyfriend. cops won't do anything after she explains the insanity of the ranch & i'd bet more bodies were discovered.
