Leaving aside the main controversial issue in this film, there is nothing wrong with this. I have known couples with bigger age gaps who are happy. In one case the woman had to suffer online abuse. If the couple are both adults they can do what they want.

If this gap is that offensive to you, you must try to never glance at shows like Mad Men, Nip Tuck, Modern Family or anything with John Stamos lest your eyes be burned out.
Hollywood doesn't come anywhere close, at least in the past couple of decades, to reflecting age gaps in real life, which are much more prevalent than on screen depictions.

There was a seventeen year age gap between Sean Young and Harrison Ford
There was a fifteen year age gap between Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford
There was a fifteen year age gap between James Marsters and Sarah Michelle Gellar
There was a sixteen year age gap between John Travolta and Uma Thurman
There was a ten year age gap between Tom Hanks and Robin Wright
Why not complain about these age discrepancies as well?
