Black female character calling out white privilege
Shocking. ๐ณ
shareWhat did she say?
shareCharacter warns Millie Bobby Brownโs character to not trust the white royal family in the trailer.
shareSigh, so tiresome.
shareShe doesn't refer to them as white though. This dude is reaching.
shareReaching? No. It's called being a lying, race baiting troll trying to stoke some anti-"woke" therapy session. Not a damn thing was said about white privilege in the trailer.
shareApparently black people having opinions about literally any other person for literally any other reason even if totally divorced from the topic of race is just too damn woke for them. ๐
shareAnd wasn't she correct? I mean seriously. They literally told her it was a business deal and they didn't need more "family". Then....
shareMy god you're right .
You've really uncovered something here!
This is clearly a worldwide conspiracy to exterminate all white people
You'd better break out the MREs and run to the hills.
I'll send word when its all over.
I watched the movie last night. This never happens
Itโs in the trailer. They cut it out of the movie?
And howโs the movie? Any good?
I enjoyed it. From what I saw in the movie, its the Bassett character telling Millie Bobby Brown to beware of these people because they're hiding something nefarious. If white privilege was ever mentioned, you would never know it by watching the film.
shareYour an idiot! Not shocking!
shareTypical. When people like you canโt support their opposing views, they just waste everyoneโs time with cheap insults instead.
shareDid you even watch the movie? The stepmother was all in for the wedding until the father started acting shady and weird after meeting with the royals, and the queen didn't even know the brides name and was clearly turning her nose up at the family. Only then did she warn her daughter that these people were up to some shit!
Or did you just see a black woman in the trailer and rush on over to moviechat to make a post about white privelege?
So yes, I stand by my idiot comment!
I just watched the movie. This never happens. Angela Bassett simply warns her step daughter that the royal family is up to something sinister. There's no mention or implication of a racial agenda.
shareAngela Bassett is the step-mother of a white girl?
Yes? So what?
shareHow did Angela Bassett's family take her marriage to a white boy?
There is usually a significant conflict, the black women usually feel like they are betraying their community and family by marrying a white.
this is the saddest response ever to a movie like this. i mean you are injecting race into this, and it is a Classism issue common with Feudal societies or the past and current, and has nothing to do with the color of skin.
furthermore, history has routinely shown that the "white privilege" comments are completely lame when referring to history of slavery if that was your intent (which again this movie has ZERO to do with anyways) because it was "black" Africans that sold their own people to slave traders in the first place so that they could be brought and sold to people in different countries. It is not like "privileged white people" showed up in ships on the African continent and knew the best places to "buy" people at, like there was some published market somewhere.
bar none this is a very uneducated review
โbar none this is a very uneducated reviewโ
Hey, you tried. Donโt knock yourself.
Granted, your babbling had nothing to do with my post (Iโm referring to movies today, not black history) but you tried.
NOPE...DID NOT HAPPEN.
shareThe black female character in this film is more of a symbol of poverty than diversity. It has nothing to do with the evil queen being white โ when you hear the queen say "you need money and we need a bride", normal people have reason to wonder why, except for those with Tiktok brains who think trolling will make them outstanding in some way.
