Recommended changes to The Great Gatsby future special edition
Two defects to be corrected: replace the awful soundtrack and redo the cheap visual effects. Then we can have an outstanding film.
shareThe soundtracks didn't work for me either. Intellectually I get it, but emotionally I feel it was something experimental that just didn't work.
I loves the visual effects though. This is an over-the-top type of director, so it was to be expected. For me this worked perfectly and created a surreal and bizarre atmosphere completely in keeping with the zeitgeist of the aspects of the 20s portrayed in Gatsby, as translated by Luhrmann in 2013.
