Allusions to Adam and Eve???

I know it's a major stretch, but this story reminded me of the story of Adam and Eve. Obviously, it's not the same story, but the theme of temptation and punishment rang familiar.

The three protagonists (two women and one man) are told not to go into the mist. They know it was the last thing the guy they were looking for wrote about in his journal. The mist is not natural. It doesn't move. It looks eerie. All instincts should be saying, "Don't go in there." But what happens? The two women are tempted. They go in to the mist. They become cursed with the evil. They are destroyed. The man is also tempted, but he resists. He is saved from the curse. He survives in the end. The man did one better than Adam. He didn't bite into the "apple." He didn't come to be taken over by the evil, as the women did.

What would have happened if Adam had resisted as this guy did????

If Adam had resisted, he would be all alone in the garden of Eden, being bossed around by God. Meanwhile, Eve wonders around what we know as the world, and dies an old woman, all alone. What a depressing story! :(
