Why didn't they just build a fence with a sign around the foggy area???

I wished they went a little into the background of the statue, but I'm also happy they didn't, probably some cliche excuse anyways.

I think it's silly the cops at least didn't pick up the luggage after it was found and keep it in evidence. If they ever picked it up later it can't be used as evidence since it's possibly been tampered with, ie, the missing black book (?) the woman took.

reply

Because if they did, somebody would find out and there would be lots of people investigating this thing. Eventually it would get out of hand. Keeping it a secret would stop the daemons from spreading.

Fences are a rather common thing. There's no reason to think that a fence would draw more attention to the area.

It's a rather silly plot hole, and I think there should have been a fence with some warning labels that the reporters would have had to climb.

In any case, it was a cool moment in the fog, especially with the weird statue.

reply

Its a rather common thing if everything else looks normal. If you have a fence with strange mist going up into the sky behind it, lots would be interested in jumping over the fence and take a look at the mist.

reply

Not if there's a sign warning against toxic fumes. And make the fence electric for crying out loud. I'm pretty sure Poland has electricity. In any case, people were flocking to the area anyway, since it's the weird looking mist that draws their attention in the first place.

reply

Ya sure, bring in lazer and tanks too.

And I'm sure all those movies about expeditions gone wrong are because they DIDN'T go where they are NOT suppose to go.

reply

"I'm pretty sure Poland has electricity"

From even the greatest of horrors irony is seldom absent.

reply

Toxic fumes that don't negatively affect any of the trees? All the more reason to jump over the fence and see what is in there.

Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt.

reply

They could bring up a helicopter that would dissipate the fog, locate the statue through cameras (so they won't get to face it), tie it with ropes and hooks, lift it up and drop it into the ocean.
How's that for an ending?

reply

That ending sounds out of the filmmaker's budget.

reply

lol

"Gentlemen, you can't fight in here! This is the war room." -Dr. Strangelove

reply

"drop it into the ocean"

Oh, great. Then there'd be demon fish all over the world, including demon shark.

reply

That would be great! But only humans get to become demons.

reply

Damn. Humans have all the fun.

Sincerely, Jaws

reply

Much like the end of "The Ruins". I kept waiting for someone to fly back and napalm the hell out of it. Literally, in "The Shrine"s case.

It's magic, wind resistant fog. Sorry, cursed, wind resistant fog. It's not like the statue had a dry ice machine going, the thick, unmovable fog is part of the whole deal.

reply

Yeah, I don't think the writers had any idea about police procedure.

But the luggage thing made no sense anyway. How did the luggage from his last flight get returned with the journal that he wrote in the town where he disappeared??
