The epilogue of the movie redeemed it in my eyes

The resolution and conclusion made me re-evaluate the movie and appreciate it more. The ending of a movie for me is a decisive factor whether i will end up liking a movie or simply disregard it. Admittedly i wasn't too highly fond of this movie with the way the plot was unfolding until the final revelation that forced me to change my mind.

I have seen many movies with a solid start and a masterful build up leading to a disappointing climax which was enough for me to dismiss the movie as a whole. With The Shrine the exact opposite happened and i am glad i end up enjoying it.

While it is far from being this mind blowing masterpiece, it was a decent watch which i will probably revisit sometime in the future. I initially rated it with a 6/10 but i later changed it to 7/10.

I loved the ending, too. Really flipped it around there.

I was thinking "this was above average". I had decided on a six before I even loaded IMDB. Tempted to give it a seven.

I enjoyed it! I'd buy a copy for my shelf.

Yea I my rating went up a couple of points when the movie flipped on it's head. I'm willing to slog through a slow film to see if it pays off. Totally OK when they do this and especially when I don't see it coming. Solid movie.

My thoughts EXACTLY!

This is one gem of a horror film. It's pretty cheap in some areas but the overall atmosphere was spot-on. I loved the fog scene, it was just superb and given that they didn't translate the polish in the subtitles made me feel as lost as the americans were, regarding the native's intentions..

I wouldn't mind a sequel where maybe the american decides to join the polish group and maybe they recruit more people to fight the curse, contact demonologist and other occult experts to help out. Maybe it will be lame but in the realm of crappy horror movies I've seen lamer.
