I get why they had to kill both girls, but why were they originally going to kill Marcus? It looked like they were having him dig his own grave.
shareBecause he didn't understand what was happening - if they'd let him go, he'd have come back (maybe with cops) and that would have ultimately led to more people being affected by the curse. At the end, when he knows what the outcome would be, and will keep quiet, they are happy to let him go.
