NO, NO, PLEASE GOD NOT AGAIN!!!

Two guys are in love with the same girl... what a shocking surprise: a turning point in the history of story telling!

HEY PEOPLE! When will you finally wake up and force feed these ghey directors with their own *beep* propaganda scripts and make them choke on it? I understand it all started with Arthur-Lancelot-Guinevere, or even long before that with Dagda the local head of the Gods of the anglos at the time, who was able to laugh at himself and being cheerily undignified (ie being man enough to stand not being manly..., that's like killing for peace, ie like fcking for virginity) but seriously... you must realize those times are long over for fck's sake! be REAL, just go and find another girl! start fckin have a spine

You don't know what the whole point of this movie was, do you?

How do you know who is the one?

You can't really know.

You may be in love, head over heals, but then you meet a guy on a street and he is just perfect. He makes you smile, understands you better, actually listens to you,... and so on.

This movie was great because it totally ruined any other romantic flick ever made.

You know who is the one, by either staying innocent and entrust your whole being to someone experienced who knows what they are doing, -or- you become experienced yourself and you GOD DAMN *beep* WELL get to know yourself and EXATLY what you want and then find an innocent person who gives themselves up for your purpose.
But you DO NOT make your choice as long as you are not sure which one you wanted to be and then UNTIL you found your master or in the other case until you actually achieved that master state.
ANY other way is idiotic, and COMPLETE waste of everybody's time on the long run.

"You may be in love, head over heals, but then you meet a guy on a street and he is just perfect. He makes you smile, understands you better, actually listens to you,... and so on. "
I'm not talking about the lousy whore here, who can't PREVENT the developments of situations like this, when she is actually in love with someone else, I'm talking about the new guy, who is such a unmanly intestinal worm, that he is unable to find another chick, that he must compete with another guy for any girl, when there are literally hundreds of thousands of girls out there.
This behavior is absolutely unrealistic. When I meet a girl, it does not matter how beautiful she is, my first question is "Are you seeing someone at the moment?" if she says yes, then I say simply good by, AND DO NOT LET IT TO TURN SERIOUS... (AND GIRLS CAN DO THIS TOO) this is normal, and this is what everybody in their right mind do, apart from complete fcktards and imagined people by fckutwad directors and scriptwriters.

Maybe you should abstain from rom-coms. Your complaint would be the same as someone complaining that The Mercenaries was just "a bunch of bad-asses have to rescue someone from a foreign country" and complained it wasn't original.

Yeah, it's been done. Over and over and over.

The point is: it works. It's a classic setup. It's HOW you make it work that matters. Sly made the Mercenaries an instant classic by populating it with legendary action stars. With a cast of nobodies...that movie earns about $10 in Direct-to-DVD sales.

This movie was successful because it had an amazing cast, some honest emotion, and some cute scenes. It was a rom-com. That's what you get. Cute, likable actors over-coming some kind of obstacle to find love. End of story.

If you wanted Hamlet...you should have rented (or gone to) Hamlet.

This movie was EXACTLY what it was supposed to be.

The problem is you don't understand or not aware of the concept of "cultural hegemony" and how these perpetually churned out one sided movies shape the minds of general population.

My girlfriend has done nothing wrong. :) And its not that movie in particular either. And WHAT American romance, LOL? :) The likes that we can see in Desperate Housewives? L-O-L :D Just WHAT can you destroy in THAT? LOL :D
It has been destroyed AND kept being destroyed for MANY-MANY years now, and its being kept like that exactly by movies like that.
And its not even because particularly of the story or anything, it is simply because of the layout: the showdown between 2 guys and 1 girl. It doesn't matter whether this can happen or how often can happen in real life, what matter is the simple fact that this layout is kept being hammered continuously into our minds. You don't see the slightest bias here? Surely this happens the other way around as many times, that is 2 girls fighting over 1 guy? Yet you can not even compare the amount of these 2 types of layouts in movies. I am not going into any conspiracy theories, I'll just ask you. Can you explain why?

This movie is your typical rom-com banking on the actors, actresses and the director's popularity as well as their previous work and not on the script of the movie.
