You can really tell he didn't actually want to be in this film. My God, he was really phoning it in! It sounded like he read lines straight from the paper, this is probably the only bad Nicholson performance I've seen.
shareJack Nicholson solely appeared in this movie as a favor to his longtime friend & director James L Brooks, yet the script failed to give the man anything remotely interesting to work with.
