I’m probably gonna be in a minority on imdb, but I didn’t like it. I think I was fooled by the trailer. Smart marketing too. This movie is very lucky that it came out at the right time. If you’re like me and grew up on RomancingTheStone/Bird on The Wire/Indiana Jones, then you won’t like it either. I know they didn’t have that kind of budget, but still, they played it too safe. The humor didn’t really work for me. Too much banter and not enough good jokes. I think the writing was definitely not there. Nothing really new or audacious that would warrant me another viewing.

Have to agree. My wife likes it. I'd rather watch romancing the stone.

Eh, it's not a good movie, but it was fun. There's a place for fluff and piffle in my world, and well. This movie is a bit of fluffy piffle!

I liked this film. It's not great, perhaps a bit silly in places but I enjoyed it.
I just re-watched Romancing The Stone, it had been years since I'd last seen it and I remember really enjoying it. However (didn't you just know that 'however' was coming) given the choice between the two films I think I prefer The Lost City. Could just be that Romancing The Stone looks a bit dated at the moment but I was a little surprised at how much I didn't love it.
