Nit-pick but, there didnt seem....
to be any cold steam coming out of their mouths, so- it didnt look that cold...
just sayin.

When you're out in the cold for a while, your body temperature drops. So your breath isn't hot anymore and you can't see it. However, when your body is still warm (like in the beginning of the movie) you can see your breath because your body temperature hasn't dropped yet.
