Could you shimmy down a cable?

I've broken my left wrist three times & as a result have very little strength left in it. It doesn't affect me day-to-day at all but I can no longer do anything significantly strenuous with my left arm - carry a heavy suitcase, do press ups etc. The required strength just isn't there anymore & my wrist buckles under the pressure.

Grabbing the cable with both hands & shuffling along like Joe did would be a no-no for me; my wrist couldn't take it & I'd lose my grip & fall very quickly. But I reckon I could manage shimmying along if I could get my legs wrapped around the cable as well as both hands. I always ski with a backpack containing trainers so that when I reach the bottom I can quickly change into comfy shoes. I'd definitely have these with me & would change into them to do the shimmy. Then once I'd made it down I'd get the girl to throw down my boots & skis, put them on & get help.

...and then the wolves would have dinner. Then your delirious mind is playing in on how you did everything right drifts in to a tunnel and a white light as the baby wolves eat your heart out.
