How the hell does this get a 94% rating on RT?!
POS incarnate.
shareWhy do people complain about the dubious scores on Rotten Tomatoes? Did you expect it was suddenly going to give you a truthful evaluation? A 94% approval rating is obviously weighted. That lackluster musical and film is hardly worthy of the ridiculously high praise many "critics" were lavishing upon it.
shareBecause it's a good musical, though I will say the musical is better than the film.
shareMusical, yes.
Movie: boring, feels too long, humbug.
Cats was a good Theatrical show. The movie version of it was awful.
On the other hand, The King and I was an excellent transportation of Broadway to film. So it can be done.
The music and dancing in this movie are just bland. Was the stage play better directed and more inspired?
Because it’s a great film that most people like?
shareI will say it's surprising it didn't get any Oscar nominations, as good as the reviews were.
