In the movie they were being stalked by a white pointer (great white). In the actual case it was a tiger shark. guess great whites are scarier.

I'm guessing because there's a lot more stock footage of whites than tigers... This is so low budget that they cut some crazy corners.

Hmm. I'm fairly certain there was only one shark. The shark footage was shot in Port Lincoln where there are a lot of Great Whites according to the sources I have read.
