How did they do the Shark?
Was it a mix of live footage and animatronics?

Think it was all live footage i'm not a 100% though.
shareIt's all live footage but it looks like it blended in with visual effects to bring the actors into the same frame. It looks very impressive and realistic.
shareThe only time it looked not real was when the shark actually went in for the kill. I am by no means blasting the movie I think that did a teriffic job blending the live footage, actors and CG. When they showed long shots of the shark and the actors in the same fram I was very impressed!
shareI totally agree with you all. 100 % real sharks and CG was only used to mix it with the actors. Still wonder how they did some of the scenes. Amazing movie!

they prob filmed the shark swiming and then filmed the actors and spliced both strips of film together.
