DVD release

Does anyone know when this will be available on DVD in the U.S.? I tried looking for it on Netflix and it said this movie was unavailable. I saw black water on Netflix and really liked it, I really want to see this movie, but can't find any info on when it will be released. So if anyone has any info it would be greatly appreciated.

You should look at more places than Netfilx if you are looking for a release date ;)

July 19th is when it comes out.

No prob, I'm looking forward to this one as well. The only 2 good Shark movies are Jaws (and some sequels aren't bad) and Deep Blue Sea, hopefully this, Shark Night and Bait 3D will be good.

$10 at Walmart. Not THAT much better than Open Water but worth $10 if you like these kinds of movies.

I got it on DVD as a blind purchase, mostly because I was so impressed with Black Water. This isn't quite as good. The suspense in BW was even sharper and there was a more satisfying climactic confrontation between the survivors and the creature. But I liked The Reef quite a bit, it tried a lot of the same things Black Water did and was mostly successful, and it was easily the best shark film since Jaws 2.

I saw Open Water several years ago, and I remember thinking it quite effective. The Reef is more straight-up thriller so I think it'll work for a broader audience.

I purtchased the DVD for a mere three bucks at a local Big Lots in Central New Jersey.
