Am I The Only One Who Thought Luke Was The Greatest Man On The Planet?

He always remained calm. He always had ideas and remained positive and supportive. He was the only one who dove under a capsized boat to find anything that would help the others. He never got angry with a bunch of people who were negative, slow and inclined to panic.

He was open, loving and honest with the woman he loved. He put her first when their lives were in danger instead of saving himself. And he was of course, physically very beautiful! I was SO disappointed when there was only one character to make it through all of this...and it was not him. Luke was one of the most heroic characters I have ever seen in the movies.

No.
No you're not the only one. Man was a god.

However it was nice to see him start to lose it a bit after Matt died. He was consumed with guilt and showed that even the leader of the group is being affected by a situation like this. Kate started to comfort him, who was losing it herself moments earlier. It made the characters seem real instead of just caricatures fitting either can or cannot handle the pressure.

Yes ‎Damian Walshe-Howling did a good job portraying Luke and as one of the other posters remarked, he does look a bit like Colin Farrell.

Remember in the back of his mind, Luke has invited them out on this chartered yacht which wasn't all that well equipped: faulty EPIRB, no dinghy etc. And IRL you probably wouldn't take to the water unless the boat went down, which is what happened to the boat in the real life story.

I totally agree. I wasn't too sure about watching another doom laden shark film but by the end you really were left with a positive feeling of admiration for Luke. His cool professionalism was inspiring. He suggested a course of action to take rather than them all just sitting around waiting to die. And in the end at least it did save the girl he loved.

yeah the actor did a great job. He came across very cool. i kept thinking Colin Farrel for some reason.

He was a star, certainly. I had the feeling that he knew, right from the moment the boat sank, he knew that they were basically screwed. Yet he still did his best.

This film is a lot better than it has ever been given credit for.

You're not the only one, he thought he was Mr Wonderful too. There is no way I'd get off the boat and attempt a blind swim... Certainly not with two weak ass swimmers... I'd let Mr wonderful go...

Although well done for going back into the boat...
